Privacy Policy
Fair Raise · Effective August 28, 2026
Fair Raise is operated by Fair Raise LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. This explains what we collect, why, and who sees it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a fundraiser, we don't sell data, we don't run ads or tracking, and card details never touch us.
1. What we collect
From organizers: your name, email address, the school, team or group name, your fundraiser's title, story, goal, end date, and an optional cover photo — either a file you upload (stored by us) or a link you paste. If you build a team roster, we also store each member's name and any personal goal, note, parent email, or photo you add. If you connect a payment account, Stripe collects identity and bank details directly under its own policy; we receive only your Stripe account ID and status (for example, whether it can accept payments).
From donors: your name, your donation amount, whether you chose to hide your name, and — optionally — your email address and a public message. Your card or wallet details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and are never sent to us.
Automatically: like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) logs technical details such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, which we use for security and to keep the Service running. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we set no cookies of our own. Stripe's checkout may set cookies under Stripe's policy.
2. How we use it
- To run the fundraiser: display the page, process donations through Stripe, and show the donor wall.
- To send transactional email: an organizer's manage link and donation notifications, a donor's thank-you, and a manage link re-send when requested. We don't send marketing email.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with law.
3. What's public
A fundraiser page — including the organizer's name, the school or group, the story and the running total — is public. On the donor wall, each donation shows the donor's name, amount, message and approximate time. If you tick hide my name, the wall shows "Anonymous" instead of your name; your amount and message still appear. Email addresses are never public.
4. Who we share it with
- The organizer of the fundraiser you donate to sees your name (even if hidden from the public), email, amount and message, so they can thank you and keep records. They can download this as a spreadsheet.
- Stripe, our payment processor, receives what's needed to process your payment and to operate the organizer's account.
- Resend delivers our email; Cloudflare hosts the Service and stores its database. Each processes data on our behalf.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the Service.
We do not sell personal information and we don't share it with advertisers.
5. Retention
Fundraiser and donation records are kept while a fundraiser is live and afterwards so organizers and donors can refer back to them and so we can meet our own record-keeping obligations. You can ask us to delete or anonymize your information (section 6); we may keep what we're required to keep, such as records of completed payments.
6. Your choices
- Donate anonymously by ticking hide my name.
- Skip the email field if you don't want a thank-you email (Stripe may still email a receipt if you gave it your email).
- Organizers can edit or close their fundraiser at any time from their manage page.
- To access, correct, delete or anonymize your information, email hello@fairraise.org. We'll respond within 30 days.
7. Children
The Service is for adults. Organizers must be 18 or older, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
8. Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 processor. An organizer's manage link acts as a password — anyone who has it can see donor details — so keep it private. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we'll tell you.
9. Where data lives
The Service is operated from the United States and data is stored on Cloudflare's network in the U.S. If you use it from elsewhere, you're sending information to the U.S.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above will change and material changes will be noted here.
